CELEBRATING THE LOVE OF BAKING
Plum & Honey was launched in 2019 in Gowanus, Brooklyn as a culinary studio & event space, led by Pastry Chef Katie Rosenhouse. We specialize in hands-on baking classes for all ages. Everything in our kitchen is made from scratch, and in all of our 2-hour classes, we love to relax, enjoy the process, and dive into techniques that you’ll have in your wheelhouse for years to come. All of our events are BYOB, so bring some wine and join us for a fun evening filled with all kinds of delicious desserts! You'll leave with a full box of sweets to savor with friends.

Katie moved to New York in 2005 to attend New York University. After obtaining a pastry position at Bouley restaurant in Tribeca, she quickly realized that her love of cooking was ultimately the path she wanted to follow. She enrolled in the French Culinary Institute where she received a Grand Diploma in Pastry Arts. In the years to come, she spent time at Le Cirque, The Russian Tea Room, Geoffrey Zakarian's Country, Olana and the David Burke restaurant group. Her desserts have been featured in Food & Wine magazine, Woman's World magazine, New York magazine, The Daily News, Brides magazine, The Daily Meal, The Village Voice, Edible Manhattan, Serious Eats & Eater, among others. After winning $10K on an episode of Sweet Genius in 2011, she went on to work as a Culinary Producer for Seasons 2 & 3. She opened Buttermilk Bakeshop in Park Slope in 2013, successfully sold it in 2018, and launched Plum & Honey as a culinary studio where both amateur and professional cooks can gather, cook, and spend time learning new techniques. We hope you'll join us!
